In-House Mold · result guide

You tested.
Here's what
it means.

Answer four quick questions about your dish. We'll tell you whether to clean it, watch it, or call a pro, how to do it safely, and when to test again.

This is a screening guide, not a lab diagnosis. It won't name the exact mold, that takes a lab. It tells you how serious it looks and what to do next.
Question 1 of 4
How many colonies grew on your dish?
Count the distinct circles of growth. Check the back of the plate too, colonies can hide underneath. Size does not matter, small or large each counts as one. If you have not waited yet, give samples 5 to 7 days somewhere warm and dark first.
Question 2 of 4
What color is most of the growth?

Color is one signal, not an identification. We weigh it lightly.

Question 3 of 4
Where did you take this sample?
Question 4 of 4
Is anyone in your home higher-risk?

Asthma or allergies, an infant, someone elderly, pregnant, or with a weakened immune system.
